Choosing a wood jewelry box depends on:

  1. Size of the jewelry collection – That’s what this page is about. You’ll see that size is only one component of price. If size and price are your primary concern, Fisher wood jewelry boxes will likely be your first choice.
  2. Aesthetics – First, remember that most designs are offered in several woods. See the photos below and “Comparing Our Craftsmen’s Work” (link). More innovative and styled designs require lots of extra time to make. Hence, you’ll pay a good deal more for a Mikutowski jewelry box, for example.
  3. Pocketbook – You may be happier in several years by stretching your budget a bit by getting a slightly larger or more interesting jewelry box. You’ll enjoy giving an extra special present. You’ll enjoy it each day you look at it. Plus, you’ll avoid the need to buy a larger wood jewelry box in several years.

Here’s the flow: Our jewelry box collection is divided into four sizes. Just look at her current jewelry box to get a sense of what she needs - remember to include for some future growth.  Next, figure which of our sizes fits her need.  Then, choose from that category.

And for the details . . . the jewelry boxes are listed by size within each category.  So, the first box in each category is smaller than the last box in the same category.  Likewise, the largest box in one category is about the same size as the smallest jewelry box in the next category.  If you're a numbers guy, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and review the table.

Small-Sized Wood Jewelry Boxes

These are truly small jewelry boxes. Several could be actually called “tiny”. They fit a son or daughter, perhaps a man or women who keeps the bare minimum of jewelry, perhaps for a vacation home. The smallest wood jewelry box, on the top left, has the space of half a sheet of letter-size paper. The largest jewelry box, towards the bottom right, has twice that space. So if you know someone who would appreciate a wood jewelry box for their small jewelry collection, take a further look at one of these wood jewelry boxes.

Medium-Sized Wood Jewelry Boxes

Here’s the jewelry box size that begins to fit many women’s jewelry. These wood jewelry boxes suit women who keep their jewelry collection to a minimum and often use their favorite jewelry each day. They allow room for some special occasion jewelry and sentimental pieces as well.

Here’s some examples. The smallest jewelry box in this category will hold 6 chain necklaces, 4 rings, 6 pairs of earrings and a couple bracelets or watches. The largest will comfortably hold 8 chain necklaces, 4 rings, 12 pairs of earrings, 6 bracelets and a pair of watches. If this describes her needs, you’ll find your wood jewelry box in this category.

For true numbers guys: how we came up with our groupings

To compare the sizes of our wood jewelry boxes, we created the following table.  We measured the usable square inches of storage space, including necklace pouches.  We converted square inches into the more practical 8 1/2” x 11” sheet-of-paper measurement.  Last, we broke the wood jewelry boxes down into four groups.
